A video of a project to repair a collapsed wall in Leeds. Our Helifix wall tie installers used resin bonded Helifix wall ties as ‘starter’ ties. The external stone leaf has partially collapsed in high winds. A Cintec sock anchor was chosen for the remaining rubble filled wall. The exposed brick wall was secured by our Helifix wall tie installers.
The ties were also driven in to the bearing ends of the floor joists and purlins to provide much needed lateral restraint to the gable, which is very exposed. Note the corks, obtained from a local brew shop? These protect the eyes of bricklayers, as they re-build the outer skin of stone. They simply remove the corks as the outer leaf rises – simples…
