Our last training session of 2012 was really special.
We’ve had so much damp-proofing, structural repairs, customer service and health and safety training this year that we all felt we were due something different.
We hired a conference room at the local Best Western Hotel for a full morning of team building and direction planning for next year.
Working with MD Bryan Hindle, administration manager Katrina Jackson put together a session based on the good management methods we’ve learned through our NVQ level 4 management and leadership training, done a couple of years ago with Esteem, via The Federation of Master Builders.
The main aims were to get all our team involved in working out our company direction for next year, agreeing our main goals and identifying our individual responsibilities and the skills we need to help the company reach them.
Bryan showed his latest basement waterproofing and Wall Tie and structural repairs CPD presentations to the staff for comment, and to ensure everyone knows what we say about ourselves and these issues. This is the first time we’ve used our CPDs for internal purposes and it was useful for everyone to give feedback – the presentations will be improved using the valuable comments made by everyone on the day.
