MD Bryan Hindle CSSW spent an hour or two with Andrew Rimmington and the engineering staff of ARC engineers, in Morley, Leeds, west Yorkshire this week.
Andrew is a keen supporter of continuous professional development and as he says “We don’t do damp and timber surveys, but we need to know what?s involved and what they can deliver for our clients.”
For the CPD presentation Andrew chose ‘Waterproofing to BS8102’. This structural waterproofing CPD included details of the methods of waterproofing new and existing basements and below ground structures.
The requirements of BS8102 were covered in detail, along with Type A and Type C waterproofing. Safeguard’s Vandex range of type A cementitious waterproofing materials were analysed in depth, with the use of case studies to illustrate the range of uses these remarkable tanking materials have worked in.
The Oldroyd cavity Drain membrane range was also looked at in depth and mixed type A and C specifications were discussed too.
Finally guarantees were covered with a resume of the Guarantee Protection Insurance which Property Care Association members with CSSW surveyors (like us) can issue for client protection.
Our structural waterproofing CPD uses real data from actual waterproofing sites so that delegates obtain a valuable learning experience. Call for details of these free CPD sessions 0800 591541
