As full members of The Property Care Association, we are subjected to regular PCA quality auditing.

PCA quality audits are essential…. read on.

This week saw a visit to our Leeds office by Peter Macdonald CSRT CSSW. Peter is in charge of making sure the quality standards of PCA members in the north don’t slip.

A PCA quality audit covers most areas including: insurance, customer complaint procedures, damp and timber survey report standards, wall tie survey reports and compliance with Health & Safety and Employment rules.

Peter has enormous experience, with over thirty years in the damp proofing industry.? He ran a successful preservation business (down south), before becoming an independent specialist consultant, helping consumers, remedial manufacturers and the PCA with preservation issues.

We strive to improve and having someone with Peter’s knowledge, spending time with us, is a great chance to fine-tune our service;

Thanks to Peter and The Property Care Association for the important feedback we get from these quality audits.

With over sixty years of experience between them, Peter and our MD Bryan Hindle tend to get excited talking about the industry, Julie’s eyes rolled as she watched them enthuse about damp proofing methods, timber treatments, damp diagnosis techniques, report writing and surveying methods….you should have seen the pair, almost drooling over the softwood joist, destroyed by Death Watch Beetle, which Bryan brought back from a timber survey in Leeds last week*……..they really ought to get out more!

*For those interested, Death Watch Beetle Xestobium rufovillosum is normally a pest of hardwood beams like Oak;? softwood joists are rarely infested… see this video
