We are delighted with the news that we have been shortlisted for a national award in health and safety.
This comes from The Property Care Association (PCA). The PCA is the established nation trade association for qualified damp-proofing and timber treatment specialists like us. With over 400 members the PCA covers the whole of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland too. So we are very pleased that we are in a shortlist comprising four companies, each held in the highest esteem, for their health and safety management.
As the smallest company of the four, we are particularly pleased. This is because we have striven to delver top-class health and safety practice, demonstrating that even smaller companies can benefit from an excellent health and safety culture. You really don’t need to be a multi-million pound enterprise! This is demonstrated by our consistent high achievement in our external health and safety audits and in the internal culture we have nurtured over the past 15 years (since our original founder started our health and safety journey). Our founder has retired, but we, as employee owners, continue to strive for excellence, having recently achieved ADVANCED CHAS ACCREDITATION.
The winner will be announced at the PCA conference in November. Fingers are crossed here in Leeds, but if we don’t succeed we are very proud that when it comes to safe working, we are in the top 1% of the PCA membership.
Consistent incremental improvement.
Brick-Tie have won many awards since the PCA launched their award outreach, to celebrate the best in the industry. These include twice being winners of the coveted Contractor of the year award, as well as awards for training/employee engagement. This is all part of a process of steady improvement, managing progress in incremental steps, to get better and better.
