Today we received a dozen certificates through the post. These were awarded to 12 of our staff, all of whom recently passed their examinations via the Property Care Association. As a result they are all qualified technicians. That said, most of them were already qualified so why the fuss?
Quality damp-proofing, in depth
We believe that knowledge needs to be nurtured. And that it is always a good idea to return to the fundamentals of any subject. So during their career with Brick-Tie, some of those guys in the image have passed the test three of four times. Others, such as Josie Burn, sat the test for the first time this year. That’s right, our admin team are also qualified to the PCAQT standard!
You wont see Josie or Sian installing a damp proof course, or spraying a roof for woodworm though. However, on speaking to any of the team you will soon realize they know their stuff. That can answer your questions on damp and timber problems.
Such in-depth team knowledge helps us deliver our service. This is because knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses, means that we act as a team. Each of us can engage with our clients with confidence. And, having sufficient trust and confidence in each other, means we freely pass the ‘ball’ to a more suitable team-mate, whenever clients need more detail.
A ‘whole team’ training approach means that our admin staff have sufficient knowledge to organise resources in-tune with the skill set of our site teams. We can match project requirements to the best ‘players’ we have.
High standards and best practice.
The basics of what we do may not be ‘rocket science’ but it is crucially important, our work has to be done right. Customers need certainty, and as we guarantee our work for ten years, we do too.
The PCAQT covers essential foundations skills. These include damp-proofing, condensation, woodworm and most common wood rots. Health and safety for clients and staff is covered, as is best practice in environmental protection and waste disposal.
