Katrina Jackson - OPerations Director - Brick-Tie

With nearly two decades of service to Brick-Tie and our clients, Kat joined our board of directors in 2021. She is crucial to the success of the business and here are a few reasons why….

For nearly two decades Kat has made a lasting positive impact on Brick-Tie and all of our team.  Promoted to a management role in 2015, Kat quickly established herself as a great manager, promoting personal responsibility alongside the importance of good communication and teamwork.

She organised the staff training plans and completed her own NVQ level 4 in management in 2011. Kat completed The Federation Of Master Builder’s sponsored ‘Success through exceptional customer service’ course and with the rest of us, is implementing a new and improved customer service charter.

Katrina is a City and Guilds qualified manual handling trainer and recently completed re-training of all staff in good manual handling techniques. This is part of our drive to make health and safety everyone’s responsibility, whether on site or in the office. As part of this Kat has also attended and passed her IOSH Managing Safely course, which helps her organise and manage projects with health and safety as her top priority.

If that’s not enough she oversees our works diary and knows where all our technicians are – all the time – it really is uncanny!

Katrina sat and passed the Property Care Association remedial technician’s exam (PCAQT). This enables her to answer client questions with accuracy;  feedback we get from clients who deal with her is consistently excellent. In fact, Katrina rarely needs to consult the surveying team when technical queries are raised – she really knows the business. So if you need a job completing soon, Kat’s the lady to ask first.

In November 2018 Katrina attended PCA training and following success in her exam is enrolled on the Professional Biocide users register.  If you want to know anything about the safe use of chemical biocides in domestic or commercial buildings you can ask Kat.

And recently, Kat helped steer the company towards its employee owned status, and headed the board during the transition to this.  As part of our board, Kat serves our clients, and our employee owners, with integrity and enthusiasm.

Here’s Katrina’s Professional Biocide user ID card. Don’t expect Kat to turn up and treat your dry rot though – do expect great advice and guidance on safe use of chemicals on your projects – she has the T-shirt!.

Kat enjoys running and has raised money for Cancer research and more recently St George’s Crypt, The Trussell Trust and Leeds Homeless kitchen.
